Falling for Fall

October 2, 2019

Ahhhh, it’s finally here! The most wonderful time of the year! October. My favorite month. Not only is it time to break out all the Halloween decorations (not to mention all your Halloween-themed clothing!), it’s also when I can get away with watching Hocus Pocus literally every single day, and my husband can’t tell me no, lol!

Along with me basically treating every single day as Halloween, my other favorite part of fall is that it’s CRAFT SHOW SEASON! My first show of the season is coming up this weekend, and I can’t wait! I’ve been doing this one with my mother-in-law for 7 years now, and we always have a blast. It’s a two day show that benefits a local food cupboard in our community, which I also love! The only downside is….getting ready for it, haha! It’s down to the wire this week, and I haven’t been able to work on any new patterns for the blog. In between doctor’s appointments for the hubs, I’ve been in a scramble to finish up those 50 million WIPs I have lying around (other people have that problem too, right???), and get everything tagged.

This year the Cupboard Craft Show is being held a month earlier than it usually is, due to scheduling conflicts. At first, I panicked – I now had a month less than I was used to for stocking up! But then, then I started to get excited, because I realized that for the first time since I started doing this show, I would be able to incorporate Halloween-specific crafts, instead of just generic Fall-y crafts! Moral of the story is, if you look hard enough you can find a positive to take out of any situation. Sometimes it just takes a different angle.

One of our craft show set ups from the 2018 season. I participate in these shows under the name Hel-Lynn Creations with my mother-in-law.

All that being said, I’m super excited to see what this season brings. And I can’t wait to keep creating. I’ll be back after this crazy weekend with a new pattern to try out. If you can’t wait that long, head on over to the Etsy Shop and see if there something to tide you over. Happy Fall, everyone!!
